ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson University has been given a gift of 125 acres of land, nearly doubling the campus' size.

University president Evans Whitaker called it the most important gift since the original 30 acres for the Baptist school was donated in 1910.

The land was donated by Anderson attorney John Pracht and his wife, Marie. The couple lives near campus and have been longtime supporters of the university.

The donation includes 40 acres of wetlands.

Whitaker says the university hasn't decided exactly what to do with the land, but is considering constructing walking trails and boardwalks on part of the tract so students can enjoy the beauty of God's creation.
